Great drawings

I first saw this and was blown away. I too was going to spit out an animation for this contest, but aside from running out of time, I'm convinced you'll win even if you just drew had a single frame of your graphical masterpiece for the duration of the call. Also, some great sound mixing on your part.

After that though, not really much to be amazed with... I mean, you used the same drawings over and over (albeit amazing ones), switching angles and expanding jawlines. There wasn't any truly fluid animation, just, from what i can tell, a small handful of different mouths and hand positions appropriately swapped at given times.

Don't get me wrong, Mr. Johnny_Utah, this is amazing work. However, I think if you can make this masterpiece, you can also make a much, much better one.

Good work, though, better than I've seen in a while.

Are you serious?

WTF, mate? What the hell? First off, this is a great submission. But #8th, LOL, i don't think so! It's a repetitive music video, albeit good, but nowhere, anywhere close to some of the great submissions behind thee on this top 50 list. Dad's home (which I only know you did from your comments) deserves #1, I'm not saying you are bad or evil... but this? C'mon... I'm sorry, this is an amazing animation, but no where even remotly close to the top 50....

Good job though...

You animated!

I think the apocolypse is occurring! Did you actually animate and do a cartoon about ANYTHING other than foamy's rant's or foamy's mail.

Kudos for finally attempting to change. kudos.

Great.

Not sure if you read reviews or not, but i wanted to tell you that I watched this one on your site a while back. I love your style and humor. You've created a couple of great characters there.

Also, loved the Sublime snippet.. made my day.

thanks! glad you like the kegel series!

i try to read all of the reviews. but i usually only respond to those with questions. so... i think you have an implied question... ;-)

thanks!

This was good... two years ago.

Wow. this was great when I saw it two years ago on Newgrounds. Someone named "RyanSimmons" with an email address as "ryan@starwarsspoofs(dot)com" submitted it on 11/08/2002. Only then it was called "star wars spoof 2002:::::" (do a search, can't post URLS)

Thanks for re-submitting the same exact thing two years later with a different account, and a free email address.

Oh, by the way, your 'Site' link doesn't work on "your" new name. Fix it.

Ps - make them longer.

nice

Nice, the end is worth the wait, if nothing more than a shocker. Kinda reminds me of a "Twilight Zone" where little alien men invade a woman's house, and she chases them around and finally kills them (I think), then the final shot shows the miniature craft with an American flag on it, the woman was infact the alien and we were the invaders. Anyway, good movie. Graphics weren't bad and the music was good. The speech was also clear and top-notch, but kinda lacked in much enthusiasm, I felt, but certainly got the job done.

Sweet job.

Good graphics

Well, this is very nicely drawn and has a great stylistic feel to it. Characters were well thought out and each looks to be developed nicely. I can't really see why this doesn't have more than a 4.0 rating, and it seems unfair to me.

The one thing that did bother me (the only thing that dropped the review rating) was that the frame rate was notably low--too low for the quality of graphics and animation. You do seriously need to bump it up a little.

Other than that, keep up the good work.

5/5

Ahhh! Curse you.

Curse you for attracting all the users away from my earlier submitted teaser! Haha, just kidding.

This was magnificent. The music fit perfectly with the movie, absolutely magnificent. Infact, where is it from, I can't seem to put my finger on it.

I still can't decide whether I like your graphic style or not. You are a magnificent artist, but sometimes I feel that the vector-based drawing style of flash lends itself for cartoony-drawings, and your talent gats a little lost when it's forced to adapt. The scanned images/backgrounds were top-notch.

The story was also great. I love open-ended stuff that makes you feel/interpret and add your own explanation to what is going on and what the original intent was.

Great job! Congrats.

AloneInTheDark responds:

hey im sorry man but i bet there will be even better movies submitted tonight. Neway ur right, the artwork for this movie was a lil bit complicated to animate. Its not 'flash artwork'. But ur also wrong about 1 thing, i didnt scan the backgrounds in, i made them in photoshop. But hey, 50/50, not bad!

wow

well, i'm half italian, and if this is what actually happend to 100% italian families then count me out. what the hell did i just watch. OK, it is kind of funny. You had some funny parts, and the fact you used your own voice for all the characters was funny... but seriously...what was that? actually, it was funny that you released it at all, and expected people to believe this is what a normal italian family is like. kudos.
